The Problem

The brief of this project was to create a title sequence for a book (that hasn't already been made into a movie). The challenge was to embody the themes and mood of the book without any prior live action imagery created for it.

The Solution

My solution to this ask was to pick a book that I was very familiar with, A Court of Thorns and Roses. This book is a fantasy novel that centers around the retelling of a classic fairytale.

I went a unique direction with my title sequences, having the intensity and audio build in suspense almost as if it were a trailer. This book has a lot of twists and turns, combat, and romance, so I chose imagery that pinned down some of those elements.

This project was created in Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator.
